Course focus
Starting from an analysis of the environmental impact of the fashion industry, the course re-evaluates all activities in the sector, from supply chains to the promotion of responsible consumption among customers, through the prism of sustainability. There will be a close look at the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), international frame of reference for all sustainability projects. In this area Polimoda collaborates with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, becoming part of the Conscious Fashion and Lifestyle Network, whose goals include the achievement of a sustainable and inclusive fashion industry.
Course aim
The aim of the course is to provide managers in the fashion sector with the knowledge and tools to make economic and business choices compatible with environmental sustainability, applying business models that impact on the supply chain and production and foster a sustainable consumption of the product.
Course structure
The course examines current production methods in the sector and the technologies to make them sustainable, comprising the following modules:
- the fashion industry and its environmental impact;
- sustainability and circularity as a business development opportunity;
- how to create strategic and sustainable communications;
- technology to support sustainability.
Outcomes / Skills acquired
Managers and consultants involved in the sustainability strategies of fashion companies will acquire the ability to shape responsible development strategies. They will learn the basics of the circular economy, using them as a starting point for innovative and sustainable production processes that improve efficiency and limit waste.
